Jessie James Decker Blue Ain T Your Color

Eric and Jessie James Decker define couple goals. He's a retired NFL player, and she's a country singer/clothing designer/Super Mom. Together they star in their own E! reality show, Eric and Jessie, run a charity, and raise three insanely cute kids, among many other activities. So it comes as no surprise that their Nashville, Tennessee home is as beautiful as their family.

House Beautiful recently chatted with Eric to learn more about how the pair turned their house into a family-friendly oasis.

They gave their fireplace a makeover.

Eric and Jessie's living room is easily the most important room in the house, since it's where their family spends the most time. "It's kind of our main hangout area—it's right off the kitchen. We put a TV in there so the kids can watch their shows while Jess cooks or while we're hanging out by the fireplace," he says. To create a rustic, European feel the couple added wood beams to the ceiling and used a mortar rub and acid wash on their stone fireplace.

Their living room also has massive windows which give plenty of natural light, a large wooden coffee table, and lots of comfy couches and chairs.

They renovated the kitchen to fit their personal style.

The original kitchen featured white cabinets and a marble backsplash, but back in 2017 Eric and Jessie worked with Nashville designer April Tomlin to renovate their kitchen and give it more of the warm feel they created in their living room.

"We added the backsplash to give the kitchen more of a rustic feel—it has almost a Spanish feel to it, because of the color and texture," says Eric. He also mentions that they used the same mortar rub from the fireplace on the hood, and installed open shelving to add a wood element, which the couple loves.

One thing they didn't change, though, is the fridge. The house came with a top-of-the-line Sub-Zero fridge, which the couple decided to keep in order to store all of their family's favorites, like Horizon Organic High Protein milk. If they were to do the renovation all over, Eric says they'd probably try to blend the fridge in with the rest of the cabinetry—but for now, it works.

They got a round dining room table.

You might not expect a dining room to be one of the coziest spots in a home, but for the Deckers, it is. "We like round tables because everyone can see each other. It's more social," Eric explains. They also used dark colors and textured wallpaper to create a more intimate setting.

They designed their patio around their favorite vacation spot.

"Our influence on all of it was we love Cabo, San Lucas," Eric says of the outdoor room off the back of the house. The couple went for a trendy look by contrasting dark wicker with white fabrics. They added a day bed swing and a custom wooden bench to create plenty of seating.

She created the coziest bed on earth.

Eric credits Jessie for creating a bed that "makes you want to lie down and not get up." Much like the dining room, their bedroom has a dark and intimate feel. To contrast the grey paint on the walls Jessie chose a tall, white velvet headboard that towers over their bed.

        They got super organized.

Finally, to maintain the picture-perfect rustic vibe of the house, the couple brought in California Closets and The Home Edit to organize their clothes and shoes.
